Kibler Elementary Student Council Raises Over $500 for Rainier Foothills Wellness Foundation and Volunteers to Support Food Access for Local Families

When students see a need, meaningful action can follow. Spurred by concern during the government shutdown, Kibler’s Student Council launched a fundraiser on their own to support local families.

After asking about the school’s annual food drive and learning it takes place in February, students decided they could not wait. The Student Council organized a coin drive, collecting donations to benefit the Rainier Foothills Wellness Foundation.

The results were impressive. Kibler students raised more than $500, and Student Council members walked from Kibler to the Rainier Foothills Wellness Foundation to deliver the donation in person.

Their service did not stop there. During the visit, students also volunteered to stock more than 350 food-to-go bags that will be distributed to schools across the Enumclaw School District. The hands-on support helped provide timely assistance to local students and families.

The Student Council was supported by Ms. Klemann and Mrs. Hardersen. Principal Goodlett was also on site to assist with supervision and logistics, but the students led the effort from start to finish.

Through initiative, generosity, and teamwork, Kibler delivered both a meaningful donation and direct volunteer support, demonstrating the impact students can have when they are inspired to learn, lead and impact their community and the world.
